Covid 19: Kumasi pastor who defied church ban granted GH¢ 10,000 bail (Video)
The Asokwa District Court has granted bail to eight ministers of the gospel and church elders who congregated in contravention to presidential ban on church activities.
They were granted GH¢ 10,000.00 bail each with two sureties to reappear on March 26, 2020.
They included Apostle Kofi Nkansah Sarkodie (alias Saint Sark), 67, General Oversea of Open Arms Ministries and Kofi Nkansah Sarkodie Snr, 29, and administrator of the church.
Bro Sack and his accomplice were represented in court by John Brefo, Esq.
The judge, Her Worship Rosemare Afia Asante, adjourned the case to March 26 this year.
Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie, also known as Brother Sack or Saint Sack, was arrested by the Buffalo Unit of the Ghana Police Service on Wednesday morning for organizing church service, in defiance of the president’s directives of suspending all public gatherings.
He was granted bail on the same day, with the caution of not organizing church service again.
But, however, on Sunday, March 22, four days after his caution, he was arrested again by the police for the same offence, alongside the church administrator.
Otec News’ reporters, Akwasi Acheampong and Isaac Nsiah Foster, who were at the court said Saint Sack appeared at the court guided by police personnel, wearing his usual all white attire and looked calm while standing in dock.
