#2020polls: Bawumia votes, calls for peaceful polls

Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has cast his vote in the ongoing polls at Walewale in the Northern Region.
The Vice-President cast his vote at about 8:15 am after going through the COVID-19 protocols and the electoral process with ease.
Speaking to the media after voting, Dr Bawumia encouraged Ghanaians to come out in their numbers to exercise their franchise.
He admonished, however, that Ghana is a peaceful country and, thus, Ghanaians need to maintain the country’s reputation as the most peaceful in the West African sub-region.
Dr Bawumia said: “I’ve just exercised my constitutional duty in casting my vote here…
“I want to encourage everybody to come out and exercise their vote. It is the biggest constitutional responsibility. As you can see, I came here, went through all the COVID protocols and it has been very smooth, I’ve cast my vote.
“Everybody must be patient and carry out this constitutional duty.
“We must vote peacefully, this is the most peaceful country in West Africa and at the end of this election we want to maintain that reputation as the most peaceful country in West Africa, we want to exercise this franchise in peace and there should be no issues of disruption.
“We want to wish the Electoral Commission well, Ghanaians well and we should make our nation proud.”
