Three kidnapped girls not found – Police

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed reports that the three girls kidnapped in Takoradi in the Western region have been rescued.

According to the Police, the report is false.

Reports on Tuesday indicated that the three kidnapped young ladies had been rescued by the BNI.

Pro-government newspaper, Daily Guide, also reported Wednesday that the three young ladies are currently seeking medical treatment at an undisclosed health facility in Accra.

Several NPP functionaries stated on social media that the girls had been found.

But the Police in a tweet Wednesday afternoon stated that the report is false and cannot be confirmed by the Police.

The Police Administration, however, assured families of the kidnapped girls and the public that they are working tirelessly with partner agencies to rescue the kidnapped girls.

Ruth Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum and Priscilla Koranchie were reported kidnapped between August 2018 and January 2019.

The main suspect in the kidnapping case, Sam Udoetuk Wills, is currently before a court after he escaped jail in December 2018 following his first arrest.

Friends and family of the young ladies have held protests to push for their rescue and have petitioned the President and the Sekondi Regional Coordinating Council for same.

Early this month police said they had discovered the whereabouts of three girls kidnapped girls.
