Canadian based philanthropist donates drugs worth $40,000 to By Grace Medical Center

By Grace Medical Center at Bremang in the Suame municipality of Ashanti region has received assorted drugs worth $40,000 from a Canadian based philanthropist, Mr Robbert Mensah.

The donation, according to the philanthropist, was to support patients who cannot afford the costs of drugs after treatment due to economic hardships.

The assorted drugs included Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride, Ferrous Sulfate, Doxycycline Hyclate, Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride and Aamoxicillin Trihydrate.

Others were Enalapril Maleate, Ibuprofen, Betahistine Hydrochloride, Clindamycin Hydrochloride, Betahistine Hydrochloride among others.

The short presentation was held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, during a free medical screening organized by the centre at Bremang.

Speaking at the presentation, Robert Mensah pleaded with the facility management to ensure that the drugs are used for the intended purposes to bring relief to the poor and the suffering patients.

“These drugs were donated to offer relief to patients who find it difficult to pay for their essential drugs in the midst economic hardships. And we believe that they will be put in good use,” he stated.

Receiving the items, the Chief Executive Officer for By Grace Medical Center, Mr Kwabena Boateng, expressed appreciation to Robert Mensah for the support.

Being the first donation of its kind to be received by the facility, Mr Boating, noted that it will go a long way to support many patients who are financially challenged in their medical treatments.

 “On behalf of the management, staff and our patients, I pledged that the items would be used for the intended purpose,” he assured.

Free medical screening

Those who patronized the exercise were freely screened on diabetes, hypertension, body mass index eye check and free medication were given to the ailing.

The Senior Nursing Officer at the By Grace Medical Center, Mrs Kate Boamah Boateng, advised the public to adapt a 3-month regular medical checkup to avoid unsuspected diseases that might maturely end their lives.
