SSNIT Pays Over 3.3 Billion Cedis to 257,000 Retirees in First Half of 2025-Director General

The Director General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Kwesi Alfreh Biney, has disclosed that his outfit has paid in excess of 3.3 billion cedis to over 257,000 retirees as of June 2025.
According to Mr. Biney, this is a clear testament that SSNIT remains one of the strongest state institutions in the country.

Addressing the 2025 edition of SSNIT’s Pensioners Engagement in Kumasi on Thursday, July 24, Mr. Biney assured pensioners that SSNIT will continue to make life easier for them.

He emphasized that SSNIT will prioritize timely payment of pensions, highlighting that 5.8 billion cedis were paid to retirees under the SSNIT scheme in 2024.

Mr. Biney pledged that his administration will lead with pragmatic policies that focus on improving the lives of pensioners, whom he described as the institution’s valued customers.
He added that pensioners deserve to be honored with a dignified life, having sacrificed their lives for decades to make SSNIT run.
