WAEC hosts stakeholder engagement to combat examination malpractices

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has organized a stakeholder engagement to discuss ways to prevent examination malpractices in Ghana.

The workshop held in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region, brought together regional, municipal, and district directors of education, leaders of faith-based educational institutions, media representatives, and other stakeholders.

According to John Carpi, Public Relations Officer for WAEC, the council will continue to collaborate with major stakeholders to ensure credible exams.

He emphasized the importance of working together to prevent examination malpractices.

Daniel Nii Duodu, Deputy Registrar in Charge of Humanities at WAEC, noted that the council has made significant efforts over the last five years to prevent leakages from their end.

He attributed this to the credibility of exams in Ghana, highlighting WAEC’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

The stakeholder engagement aimed to solicit practical solutions to ensure that examinations in Ghana are conducted without malpractices.

The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to share ideas and work together to find solutions to the challenges facing the examination system in Ghana.
