7-year-old girl killed, two siblings injured in okada accident at Adankwame

A tragic road accident has claimed the life of a seven-year-old girl and left her two siblings seriously injured at Adankwame in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred when an okada rider reportedly knocked down three children who were standing by the roadside in front of the Adankwame Police Station.
The victims have been identified as Rasmiya Abdul Rahaman, aged 7, who died from the incident, Rasmid Abdul Rahaman, aged 7, and Musharraf Abdul Rahaman, aged 11.
In an exclusive interview with OTEC News reporter Solomon Nimo on Tuesday, February 4, 2026, the father of the children, Mr. Musah Yussiff, confirmed the death of his daughter Rasmiya Abdul Rahaman.
He added that the two other children sustained various injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
An eyewitness told OTEC News that the children were standing by the roadside waiting to cross when the okada rider lost control and ran over them.
The cause of the accident is yet to be officially determined by the police.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the family house in line with Islamic customs, pending police clearance for burial.
The okada rider also sustained injuries in the accident and has been admitted to the Asuofua Government Hospital for treatment.
